Exam at a Glance:
  • Test is made up of 2 modules. Module one (A) covers Cells and Cell Processes. Module two (B) covers Continuity and Unity of Life.

  • Module A: Cells and Cell Processes 32 multiple choice, 4 constructed response.
    • Anchor 1 - Basic Biological Principles
    • Anchor 2 - Chemical Basis for Life
    • Anchor 3 - Bioenergetics
    • Anchor 4 - Homeostasis and Transport

  • Module B: Continuity and Unity of Life 32 multiple choice, 4 constructed response.
    • Anchor 1 - Cell Growth and Reproduction
    • Anchor 2 - Genetics
    • Anchor 3 - Theory of Evolution
    • Anchor 4 - Ecology

  • Total: 64 Multiple choice Questions, 8 Constructed Response
  • NOTE: 16 of the multiple choice questions (8 in each module) and 2 of the constructed response will not count toward your score as they are "field testing" these as possible future questions. We will not know which questions are the field test questions and which ones will count.
  • Estimated to take 145 minutes to complete both modules. It is not timed.

  • Constructed Response will be scored on a 0 - 4 scale using this rubric.

START --> Study Island --> Khan Academy and Other Helpful Sites --> Test Taking Tips --> Ace the Keystone Exam!

How to Use It:
Click Science along the top, then select Keystone Biology. [show me]
You want to focus on Cells and Cell Processes and Continuity and Unity of Life topics 3 - 8. [show me]

Pay attention to your scores in each topic. If you score above a 7 out of 10 in a topic, then move on to the next topic.

If you struggle in a particular topic (score of 60% or below) then familiarize yourself with the Lesson, Flash Cards, and/or Interactives that are available for that topic.
